A swimming pool requires a lot of patience, knowledge, care and regular cleaning. Part of this maintenance involves keeping the pool tiles and water features clear of calcium and scale buildup. Even maintaining the correct water chemistry and regular brushing may not be enough to keep the calcium buildup from appearing and leaving a white deposit on your pool tiles and natural stone. Buildup normally appears at the waterline and gives the appearance of a ring around your pool. By the time a ring is noticeable there are usually only a few options left for removal.

Your pool expansion joint is the expansion joint between the pool coping and the pool decking. The sealed joints primary functions are to maintain a sealed buffer between the decking and the coping when movement occurs. When the joint becomes unsealed and cracked it can allow moisture below the decking and coping causing erosion under the decking and between the pool tiles and gunite. When moisture penetrants these areas it can cause your decking to settle and crack and/or deteriorate your pool tiles adhesive causing your pool tiles to become loose and even fall off.
Your pools expansion joint should be inspected every couple years for cracks or separation and repaired or replaced as needed.
At Houston Mobile Blasters we only install Sikaflex, which for years has been the go to product used by professionals for long lasting pool expansion joint repairs.
